The everyday life of a product and content manager - with and without Connector
Mr Findig is faced with the task of adding a new product to the online shop: the lawn mower ‘Lawner 5000’. In addition to the product details, various images also need to be uploaded - including detailed photos and two mood shots. Without a centralised solution, he would have to manually enter these assets into the SAP Commerce Cloud and link them to the appropriate products. An error-prone and time-consuming process.
With the CELUM Connector for the SAP Commerce Cloud, however, this process runs smoothly and fully automated:
1. Upload to CELUM:
Mr Findig does not upload the images of the new lawnmower to the SAP Commerce Cloud, but to CELUM, which acts as a digital asset management (DAM) system.
2. Automatic creation of image derivatives:
As predefined image derivatives for various views (zoom image, gallery image, shopping basket etc.) are already stored in CELUM, these are created directly.
3. Maintenance of metadata:
Mr Findig enters the title, description, photographer and validity period for the images.
4. Link to SAP:
Collections are used to automatically assign the images to the corresponding product in the SAP Commerce Cloud.
5. Automatic synchronisation:
As soon as the metadata is complete, the connector ensures that the data and images are available in the SAP Commerce Cloud in real time.
6. Live in the online shop:
The new images appear on the lawn mower product page in the online shop without any further action – fast, error-free and efficient.
Fully automated transfer for maximum efficiency
Our connector uses the CELUM event system to inform SAP of every change to the digital assets. These events are processed in the SAP Commerce Cloud in real time and the corresponding media fields on the item are filled automatically.
This means for Mr Findig:
