For the second time since 2020, SAP CONNECT, one of the largest SAP partner events in German-speaking countries, took place digitally. Six communicoders were there and followed the event.

The cloud above everything

This year, too, CONNECT was all about networking and the transformation to an intelligent company with the help of the cloud. The digital exchange between partners from the entire DACH region among themselves and with SAP itself took place on a dedicated, interactive platform. The aim was to exchange ideas and network profitably, to collect ideas and to actively help shape the event in numerous sessions. There was also the possibility of speed dating between the partners to get to know each other and exchange ideas.

From Partners - For Partners

There was a major innovation at the event right at the beginning: The intro, which in the past had always been moderated by SAP, was completely staffed and held by representatives of the partner advisory board. This change to a greater say for the partners in turn supports the guiding principle "From partners - For partners". In an exciting but also relaxed conversation, future topics with a focus on "cloud transformation" were discussed.

Lots of live sessions on October 27th and 28th

Both event days were filled with numerous sessions on a wide variety of digital topics. There were also interesting lectures apart from the typical SAP topics.

For example, Alexander Metzler, expert for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in the digital age, gave a lecture on the topic "Healthy biohacks in the digital age". Metzler showed the mechanisms behind digital sensory overload and how the possibilities of digitization can be used positively in the private sphere without allowing yourself to be overwhelmed by it.

Of course, the organizer himself also provided updates on the latest developments in the SAP universe. One of the focal points was the SAP Business Technology platform. This promises the customer agility, business benefits and continuous innovation through integration, value creation from data and extensibility of all applications and databases from SAP and third-party providers. Another focus was "RISE with SAP", which stands for the transformation to an intelligent company. Several sessions, which invited interactive participation, were also dedicated to partnering itself.

Is the future of CONNECT digital?

With the SAP Connect Remote, SAP has created an exciting and interactive format that actually arose out of the circumstances of the pandemic. Its sustainable character is all the more impressive, if only because there are no travel routes and the purely digital environment in which all partners can exchange ideas. All in all, the event makes you want more. All the greater is the desire to be able to greet current and future discussion partners in person again soon and to enjoy the direct small talk over lunch or between the lectures.
